Well hello there, fellow basketball enthusiast! It’s that time again: Time for the NBA season to have begun literally over two hours ago, when the Celtics and Sixers tipped off in Boston. There could be no better time than this to look ahead to what the 2018-19 season has in store for us, except maybe Christmas. Below you’ll find an alphabetical list of the NBA teams, and at least in some cases possibly some information about the large men wearing their uniforms, such as some of their names. That’s handy! Look, let’s just do this thing. Atlanta Hawks source: [object Object] What is their deal? The Hawks went 24-58 last season, finished dead last in the Eastern Conference, and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2007; they stunk like shit and were awful to watch. But, uh,…
Cardinals outfielder Stephen Piscotty had a great day yesterday, signing a six-year extension with St. Louis the day after beating the Cubs on national television. He had the opposite sort of day today, as he had to leave the Cards’ game early with a head contusion after getting hit by a trio of baseballs thrown by various Cubs players in the fifth inning of tonight’s game. First, Cubs starter Jake Arrieta nailed Piscotty on the right elbow to send him to first base. Arrieta then tossed a wild pitch past Willson Contreras and Piscotty sailed on to second base, although Contreras’s throw smacked into his right elbow as he was sliding into second. Piscotty bolted home after Javier Baez mishandled a Kolten Wong grounder, and Baez’s caught him right on the earflap of his batting he…
Dallas Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick has been suspended for the first four games of the season after testing positive for PEDs. This is dumb, because while Scandrick did have drugs in his system when he was tested, if his version of events is true, there's no way that the drugs he took should have been considered "performance enhancing." After news of the suspension broke yesterday, Scandrick told Fox Sports' Jay Glazer that his positive test was the result of something he took while on vacation in Mexico. Glazer later reported that Scandrick took Molly, and that the amphetamines in the drug are what got him popped for a positive PED test: A recreational drug like MDMA should be classified as a "drug of abuse" under the NFL's testing policy, n…

data-mm-id=”_rflwy2ls9″>The Minnesota Vikings and their fans took over Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California Sunday. While the Vikes dominated the Chargers on the field by the tally of 39-10, their fans took over the entire stadium, outnumbering Chargers fans nine-to-one by some estimates. And that situation gave us one of the best sports photographs of the year.In the midst of that crazy scene of Vikings celebration, a photo captured one lone Chargers fan. Draped in a powder blue hat and t-shirt, he sat among a sea of standing, cheering Vikings fans. His arms were crossed defiantly and the expression on his face showed he was not, in fact, enjoying his day. Robert Gauthier of the LA Times captured that shot among many on Sunday. He sent it out in this tweet:A purple haze ha…
data-mm-id=”_a3081q3fe”>Russell Wilson was excellent again Monday night, as his Seattle Seahawks beat the Minnesota Vikings 37-30. It was yet another steady, winning performance from Wilson, who is having the best season of his career. Wilson surpassed the 3,000-yard mark Monday night, making him one of just three quarterbacks in NFL history to top 3,000 yards and post winning records in eight straight seasons. The other two to accomplish the feat: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. That's pretty good company. Oh, and Wilson is the only quarterback to do that in each of his first eight NFL seasons. So far on the season, Wilson is completing 67.4 percent of his passes for 3,177 yards with 26 touchdowns and four interceptions, while averaging a career-best 8.3 yards per attempt. At his c…

It was senior night at Jackson State so coach Wayne Brent let student manager Thomas "Snacks" Lee suit up. With the Tigers up big in the second half, chants started and eventually Brent sent Lee into the game.JSU wild. Ya love to see it. pic.twitter.com/EzZ5OzcBr2— Dorian (@AllHailDorian) March 3, 2020It took a few tries – Snacks missed his first three 3-pointers – but eventually, with 35 seconds remaining, he hit a deep three and the crowd went wild. It can't be emphasized enough just how deep this three was. Not just NBA range, but deep enough so far back that Mike Breen would have given it a resounding, "BANG!" The announcers for Jackson State …
data-mm-id=”_wubq5qimz”>Nojel Eastern has entered the transfer portal, becoming the second Purdue senior-to-be to announce a transfer in a few weeks. Previously, fellow rising senior Matt Haarms left Purdue for BYU. Purdue junior Nojel Eastern has entered the transfer portal, sources told ESPN. Started 62 games the past two seasons, averaged 4.9 points and 2.7 assists last season.— Jeff Borzello (@jeffborzello) May 12, 2020Eastern is a 6-foot-6 guard who is a defensive stopper without a ton of offensive ability. Despite that lack of offensive punch, he and Haarms were expected to be leaders for the Boilermakers next season. Both were two of the better defensive players in the Big Ten and would have certainly helped next year's team with toughness. Eastern had developed into one …

data-mm-id=”_fbx2cegmb”>Major League Baseball owners have dropped hints that they want to impose a salary cap several times in the last few weeks. On Thursday, Arizona Diamondbacks owner Ken Kendrick went on the radio and pushed for revenue sharing and a salary cap. Just to be clear, the players won't let that happen any time soon. Kendrick went on the Doug & Wolf Show on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM and claimed the reason for the labor strife in baseball was the lack of a salary cap. Side note: I really hope Doug isn't doing a show with an actual wolf, because that seems dangerous. Even if it would be cool. Here's what Kendrick had to say:””Why is it that we are the only sport that doesn’t have revenue sharing? All of the other major sports have revenue sharing. What woul…
